Hope Found

God is Faithful

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

With the sudden onslaught of Covid 19 and the continued fallout, one could begin to doubt that there is a God who is good when faced with these dire circumstances.

There are some things that we just can’t comprehend, but we have to trust that God is in control and that in all things God works for the good. For it is in times like these that we are given a chance to show love and compassion to total strangers. This is how hope is restored -- when we lend a helping hand to someone in need. God commanded us to love one another – to help, to care, to support and to provide for those who cannot for themselves. This is how God works – through us-- in the midst of chaos and calamity. He does not send the chaos, but He restores hope when chaos strikes.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, Hebrews 10:23-24

Because God is faithful, we can trust God is at work in the midst of calamity.

Out of Control

God is All Powerful

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

We are taught to be in control -- to take control of our lives and our circumstances. The fear and suffering generated by Covid 19, demands from sheltering in place, and the uncertainty about our economy and future was sudden, unexpected and at times is overwhelming …. What an eye opener to understanding who really is in control – an all powerful God who has the whole world in His hands! And with this revelation comes hope and a sense of peace if we trust God, believing He is good and has a plan for each of us.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:3

Because God is all powerful, we can trust that He is in control of all the circumstances in our life.
